Christina Shores
Adventure Education Coordinator
Hello! My name is Christina Shores, and I am stoked to be returning to Renaissance Secondary for the 24-25 school year as the Adventure Education and Special Projects Coordinator. You can also find me teaching x-blocks, coaching cheerleading, teaching health class, coaching Mock Trial, running the climbing wall, and providing additional student coverage as needed. We are crew!
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Georgia Southern University with concentrations in Environmental Sustainability, Culture & Society, and an emphasis in Experiential Education. I also have a minor in Theatre. My professional background is predominately in Outdoor Education, and I’ve been fortunate to live, work, and play in several incredible states - including California and Oregon, eventually landing in Colorado with my husband in August of 2019.
While outdoor education is my true passion, I’ve also had the privilege to work in STEM education, OE administration, wilderness guiding, trail building, and natural resource management. I am a certified Wilderness First Responder through NOLS, and a certified Climbing Wall Instructor through the AMGA. I am actively working towards my Single Pitch Instructor certification.
In my free time, you can find me traveling around with my husband and 2 dogs to spend time in wild and beautiful places. I love backpacking, rock climbing, nature photography, and pretty much all things that require a significant amount of time in the great outdoors. I firmly believe that experiences teach us the best lessons, “someday” is a disease that will take your dreams to the grave with you, the earth is what we all have in common, and that the only person you should compare yourself to is the person you were yesterday. Excited to see what the new year brings for our crew!
