Facilities Director, Learning Guide & Guitar

I am a native of Colorado and grew up in Douglas County when it was truly the middle of nowhere. As a young man I worked with many types of livestock to include Bison. I have worked in the autobody industry, food service, retail, been an equipment operator and a laborer. In fact, I still have a commercial driver’s license.

I graduated from Douglas County High School in 1988. I earned a B.A. in English and Linguistics with an emphasis in Education from Metropolitan State College of Denver, now Metropolitan State University. I have experience as a bilingual classroom teacher in Denver and as a substitute teacher in the Denver and Douglas County school districts. I enjoy working with children from every walk of life. I believe that a true and ever encompassing diversity is necessary to enrich and enliven the mediocrity sometimes unwittingly caused by seeking the easiest path.

I am excited to be a part of the Renaissance crew. I have a multi-layered skill set and am eager to put it to use.  I love to explore ideas and methods for truth and possibility. I love to wander, to journey for the sake of the journey. I feel the journey’s experience is the most profound teacher. The lessons learned here are lifelong and influence us in ways that create an inner wisdom both gentle and powerful.

My wife, Lisa, and I have been married for twenty-four years. We have two children. Lennon is nineteen and Skyla is fourteen. In my spare time I play guitar and revisit my martial arts past from time to time. On warm weekends I am to be found riding my motorcycle on the dirt roads of forgotten Colorado.

I look forward to working with its staff and students in the coming school year and beyond. Together we shall create an excellent future for all involved. Now, let’s do this.
